Bad press releases #1: Victory Records

I am continually astounded by the poor standard of writing in PR these days. In a new series entitled Bad Press Releases, I'm going to name and shame the worst offenders.

Exhibit #1: Ashley from Victory Records

Today’s premiere hardcore band, COMEBACK KID prepares for the release of their fourth studio album Symptoms + Cures on August 31.

1. "Premiere" is a noun - premier is the word you're looking for, and even so it doesn't really fit.

2. You need a second comma after "Kid".

3. You've confused your tenses. A band either prepares for its release or prepare for their release.

That's only the first sentence, but luckily I stopped reading at that point.
