Legend has it, the first time Elvis Presley's original band - Scotty Moore and Bill Black - heard Gene Vincent's 'Be Bop A Lula' on the radio, they were incensed. Vincent's voice was such a perfect approximation of Presley's tenor they were convinced he'd been moonlighting with other musicians.
Brian Setzer's always taken his cues from Eddie Cochran rather than Elvis or Gene, but this is a cracking performance of Vincent's classic from the Stray Cats' Live in Paris DVD from 1981.
